Morrell was short in stature but an absolute giant in #Pompey title-winning dressing room. When he got injured, he wasn’t truly replaced in midfield, but that promotion juggernaut was never stopping. An intelligent interviewee, top guy and superb pro. Forever in Fratton folklore.

On the money.
The murder of Charlie Kirk was criminal, wrong, and should be condemned.

And Charlie Kirk was a horrible, hateful man who spent his life radicalizing young people to embrace their worst demons by targeting women, people of color, immigrants, and the marginalized.

I refuse to sanitize him.

The bigger point: stamp duty is a confusing mess. The tax shouldn't exist. The second home surcharge is daft.

Why are we taxing someone who buys two £500k homes £55k (£15k + £40k),

But someone who buys one £1m home £43k?

Where's the logic?

University redundancies in recent days: Bournemouth, Cranfield, Edinburgh, Edinburgh Napier, UCL. And this is before the deluge that will start in the new academic year. An urgent, overwhelming danger to key national assets. Nothing will be done.

'Bishop continues to be a talismanic presence for #Pompey and even when battered, bruised and unable to walk - like Saturday - he somehow manages to pick himself up and strike back.' My verdict on 1-1 draw at West Brom.
West Brom 1 Pompey 1: Neil Allen's verdict - He gets knocked down, he gets up again
A hard-earned point for the Blues at West Brom, with their talismanic striker bouncing back yet again

The Ukrainian resistance to the Russian invasion is the reason I came back to social media.

There are many heroes in that resistance, but for me it began with the crucial decision of President Zelenskyy to refuse to surrender or evacuate.

There is *something* in this, in the sense that there are identifiable DNA haplogroups in which you can roughly tell where someone is from.

So there's an identifiable west European Y-DNA group that takes in England.... and several other countries

'Tens of millions of people died as a direct result of Stalin’s policies between 1924 and his death. These policies included the forced collectivisation of agriculture, the Gulag labour camp system and the “great terror”' But 'By 2023, 63% of Russians had an overall positive view of his leadership.'
Why is Stalin back in the Moscow metro?
Joseph Stalin is making a comeback in Russia.

London buses are covered in adverts urging us all to watch this for free through DAZN, a streaming service owned by the ever-curious character of Len Blavatnick (whose representatives will phone you all weekend if you dare to call him an “oligarch”), who used $1bn of Saudi cash to buy the rights.
Really has cheered me up watching the collective indifference of football fans to the new Club World Cup.
I mean just look at this nonsense. Surprised Delap isn’t starting to be honest. I’ve never seen any pre season game be this bad in attendance terms!

“Few things unite supporters of Reform like opposition to benefits for anyone other than themselves. While the removal of the Winter Fuel Allowance was cruel and callous penny-pinching, the two-child cap is, if anything, far too generous”
Is Reform a right-wing party?
If the problem with Labour is that it believes in nothing, the problem with Reform is that it believes in everything
