Heads-up: In 5.7, the Package Project and Cook Content options are unselectable by default. You'll need to manually assign a platform for these before Packaging or Cooking.

Oh, right. I can just scale up the interface when I need to take screenshots for presentations (or when my eyes get tired). Neat.

Edit > Editor Preferences > General > User Interface > Application Scale.

Here's another little UE tidbit: Hold Shift while expanding a section to expand all of its subsections at once. Same goes for collapsing sections. It's a quick way to control the granularity of what you see in places like the Details panel.

Happy Friday! Here's a little UE tidbit:
Typing a Cvar followed by a ? instead of a value will show helpful information about that CVar right in the console! It's an easy way to get explanations for each of the available values, and see how the value has changed.

Or, in the Console Variables window: add just "abtest" to the list, then specify the cvar and its values in the Value field, and use the Execute button to run the cvar. Replace the text in the Value field with "stop" and use the Execute button again to stop the toggle.

In order to see this option appear in the menu (as shown in my initial post), you'll need to enable the Console Variables Editor plugin and restart the editor ✨

If want to review all the parameters that use Custom Primitive Data in one place: From a material, go to Window > Custom Primitive Data. 'Slot' = 'Data Index' in the corresponding CPD BP node. Note: The list includes params from Material Functions, too! #ue5 #tips #uetips
February 25, 2025 at 6:58 PM
If you're working on a Material that uses the FixRotateAboutAxisNormals MatFunction and see some weirdness, try unplugging whatever you have piped into the PivotPoint. All normals have a pivot of 0,0,0, and the default for that MF input is already 0...so it doesn't need to be changed. #ue5

Use the Console Variables panel to search for CVars, easily review which you've used, revert to default values, and/or save and load presets. #ue5 #tip #tidbit #cvar
