Michael Bennet: The current system is in dire need of help. The American People are hanging onto their fingertips when it comes to the cost and availability of healthcare. There is no rich country in the world that doesn't have a universal system, or routinely supply access to doctors and care.

Ro Khanna, who has called for Chuck Schumer to be replaced, says the only reason other Democrats aren't calling for it is because it would "offend a lot of donors."

"Are we gonna be beholden to the donors that have gotten us two terms of Donald Trump, or are we gonna listen to people?"

Senator Ron Wyden, Democrat of Oregon, accused Republicans of hiding a provision in the funding bill that would give millions of taxpayer dollars “to a handful of Republican senators who helped Trump try to overthrow the government on Jan. 6, 2020.”

Finally some Dems are waking up! I went to Bernie's office in 2019 (he wasn't there, only staff) but while walking the halls I introduced myself to Bennett. Very kind man, but was not my political cup of tea. Amazing... times may be a changing
Michael Bennet: I really am a Bolshevik. I believe we should provide universal healthcare to all Americans as a right. There is no reason not to do it in the richest country in the world, especially if we can do it at half of the cost of care we are providing now.

The same Democratic Party that just surrendered in the shutdown fight:

- gave up pandemic relief without a fight
- failed to ban gerrymandering
- gave up on Build Back Better
- voted to confirm Trump’s appointees.

Rollover.
Wither.
Die.

Like Fox News line: Democrats win, they lose.

In response to this claim that the "strategy didn't work."

The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting.

And giving in now will embolden him. Things will likely get worse.

Listening to Mike Johnson Live. The Dems just made the Republican the heroes to reopen the government and the Dems the villains who caused the shutdown. This could have been different, but we sold out again. We had momentum and support, they literally poured water on it

This is exactly correct.
Assume all the yes and no votes from Dem senators are strategic and not sincere votes. The party caucus made a decision. No way to know how many were in favor. Then the caucus decided who would vote yes and no based on what would protect each of them politically the most. That’s how this works.

Knocked on doors and did local table set ups at community events for Bernie 2016/2020. Only to be crushed as Dems made sure he would never win. I held my nose and voted for these spineless Dems every time in every race against Republicans. Why? Why?

People are going to be really shocked when the moderate Dems they voted for that denied Medicare for All and continue to cave to Republicans give you healthcare with preexisting conditions.

In a functional party system, this kind of capitulation in the face of authoritarianism could mean the end of the Democratic Party.

In our system, it could mean the end of the two party system. Neither party can represent the pro-democracy majority. It's time for something new.

If we had Universal Healthcare we wouldn't be in this position today. Unfortunately, people allowed themselves to be told by DEMOCRATS that it was impossible. Told by the moderates it was crazy socialism. I will never understand the incrementalism crowd

Since the Democrats worked extra hard to hide who actually supported this, I think the No Kings/Resistance position should be to primary every Democrat unless they publicly call for Schumer's ouster this week

Either they go into total rebellion mode, which they won't, or the people will
