Midwestern blustery spring storms mean our patio umbrella has been closed for a while and the rhodedendrons are magnificent. Noticed that Carolina Wrens, those tiny birds with giant songs, are nest-building such that I may never extend my umbrella again.

I refuse to repost the repugnant video of Kristi Noem grandstanding in front of prisoners in El Salvador. It's vile and vomitrocious. We got to this point in just 66 f'n days.

Most of us must work. Find a role that lets you use your best innate talents, so you're always playing to your strengths. And if that work is in the corporate world, don't let any job become your persona as there's no loyalty in corp. Find joy outside of any job. Explore the world if you're able.
people over 30 quote this with some life advice for the rest of us?

My sweet Ziggy cat. We adopted her 13 years ago after she was dumped. She got a terrible diagnosis at the vet today. I knew in my heart it was going to be bad. She got a pain and antibiotic shot so we can spend a last weekend giving her all the love, and pets, and treats she deserves.

As a casual non-white observer, it’s so bizarre to see folks work so hard to try to prove their superiority over someone like me when they could spend that time actually bettering their own lives and…I don’t know, be happy instead of miserable fucks.

One of the reasons we are all freaking out is because Democratic leadership is nowhere to be seen.
We need a democratic pseudo president to address what is going on and what we can do about it.
Someone who has rallies, interviews. Show us sane in an insane world.

Trump just literally eliminated an Executive Order to reduce the price of prescription drugs. They are ripping you off, personally. They never gave a shit about the price of anything.

Donald Trump has vowed to overturn the Inflation Reduction Act, which he has referred to as the “new green scam.”

If he follows through, he would be rolling back a law that has disproportionately benefited areas like Sulphur, La., that make up his base. @fastlerner.bsky.social
This Storm-Battered Town Voted for Trump. He Has Vowed to Overturn the Law That Could Fix Its Homes.

Seriously. Bessent believes tax cuts for billionaires is a pressing issue, but is perfectly fine with a $7.25 federal minimum wage. 13 shameful states either have no state minimum wage (looking at you, my home state of Louisiana), or just match federal. We're in our new robber baron phase. Gawd.
During his confirmation hearings Thursday, Scott Bessent, Rump's💰billionaire💰Treasury Secretary nominee said he does NOT think there should be a change to the $7.25 federal minimum wage. #RobberBaronReasoning

Louisiana receives enormous amounts of disaster aid when hurricanes beat that state to hell and back. After powerful disasters like the California fires or hurricanes, playing politics harms the lives of everyday people. Piss off, Mike Johnson. You're no leader.
BREAKING: Speaker Mike Johnson announces that he supports placing conditions on wildfire aid to California.

Joy. Rescue pups Lilo and Stitch are loving the snowy morning in MO. Especially Stitch, the white-based one. She has enough Great Pyrenees in her mutt mix to adore snow. She rolls around in pure happiness. Lilo's coat is shorter, with more German Shepherd and Boxer, and wants more snow breaks.

Growing up in SW LA, there's a saying... First, you make a roux. When the world is overwhelming, break it down to step one. I made 2 gallons of gumbo today. After morning coffee, worried about an incoming dictatorship. First, I made a roux the deep color of chocolate. Stir, stir, stir. Breathe.

Stitch very much believes she's a lap dog. Lilo looks on from the floor and doesn't try to climb me. Ziggy (kitty) is unconcerned.
