Because we live in a police state that loves punishment whether that’s evangelicals who crave punishment for “sinfulness” or liberals and “Fuck around and find out.”

That’s the universal religion.
Like why is the current Democrat message just "I don't want politicians to help people out. I want my fellow man to suffer"? All this tells me is that Democrats are either lazy, sociopathic, or both.

In times like this there’s a real risk that comes with framing decency as radical.

When we talk about being radicalized we need to go beyond empathy and into collective struggle against systems of oppression.

Caring for others is necessary, but it’s not sufficient.

Update on repression against Cop City activists in Atlanta 🤬
Nothing to see here. Not creepy at all. Zero repression or overreach. #Atlanta #StopCopCity #ACAB
Cameras have appeared outside homes of Atlanta’s ‘Cop City’ activists. Why are they there?
Cameras are hidden in unmarked boxes on utility poles in a move residents and advocates call ‘creepy’ and ‘corrosive’

While this comparison is actually too *generous* to Facebook (see my reply for why), even as presented here is appalling how clearly our legal system applies a double standard to corporations and billionaires vs. progressive activists fighting for justice.
Meta illegaly downloaded 80+ terabytes of books from LibGen, Anna's Archive, and Z-library to train their AI models.

In 2010, Aaron Swartz downloaded only 70 GBs of articles from JSTOR (0.0875% of Meta). Faced $1 million in fine and 35 years in jail. Took his own life in 2013.

Everything is an invitation to loosen our grip on the systems we know (even when their familiarity is comfortable or convenient).
