"The best and the worst thing about vaccination is that it 'makes nothing happen.'

A child successfully inoculated against measles doesn’t fall sick with that condition, doesn’t miss school, doesn’t go to the hospital. They don’t suffer life-changing complications. They don’t die prematurely."
A leading pediatrician was already worried about the future of vaccines. Then RFK Jr. came along
In a new book, pediatric infectious disease specialist Dr. Adam Ratner details the history of measles, a virus that’s often a bellwether for public health disasters.

Whatever the outcome, I wish everyone would drop any pretense that Pete Hegseth is fitting to lead our military men and women. They deserve so much better.

Yes, there are lots of negatives around the Pete Hegseth nomination -- the rampant alcoholism, the allegations of sexual assault, the hush money payment to an accuser, the total incompetence leading non-profits, and so on.

But ask yourself:

Does all that outweigh the total lack of positives?

Pete Hegseth is a barely functional alcoholic sex abuser but he can run the military because he will stop drinking if he is confirmed. Wow.

Importantly these policies are discussed bans on public funding for trans care but, as trans adults even with private insurance in Florida and South Carolina are learning, it leads to hospitals canceling all appointments because they don't separate public/private funding streams
