So basically, we owe the history of Pi to some smart mathematicians with sexy brains.

Happy Pi Day!!

What day is it? Is it Steak & Blowjob Day today, or is it Pi Day? Well, since I'm a scientist who believes any day could be Steak & Blowjob Day, or at the very least Blowjob Day, let's talk about Pi.

Who first discovered it, anyway?

So trump's criticizing the person who signed the US trade agreements with Canada and Mexico, saying "I blame our leadership for allowing it to happen," when he's the one who *checks notes* created, negotiated and signed the US-Mexico-and-Canada Trade Agreement in 2020. Am I getting this right?

My backyard in Anchorage, AK in January. I'm about ready to pull out the lawnmower, because there's no need for a snowshovel anymore.

The seven republican deadly sins are weird and confusing. Empathy, poor, universal healthcare... Pride is still there, only it's a different kind of pride. What are the rest?

Guess who has more snow than I do up here in Alaska? This winter is so weird

There is no cat, only a cat-sized snoring lump under my blankets that I discovered when I came home.

In case you need any help tomorrow. I'm a big fan of #2, personally.

Random science fact: when threatened, sea cucumbers eviscerate themselves and shoot their internal organs out of either their mouth or their cloaca in self- defense to scare away predators, an act called autotomy. Don't worry! They grow back!

Fresh ink. Alaska wildflowers, so I'll have a touch of home wherever I may roam.

Random science fact: we have stripes, but we can't see them (our pet cat can). They're called Blaschko's lines. They form V patterns on your back and S patterns on your stomach. They're invisible to the human eye unless you use a strong UV light. So go try it, check out your stripes!

Random science fact: I just learned that sea spiders exist. There are about 1500 species. They're closely related to terrestrial spiders, but they're pycnogonids, not arachnids. They can grow to over 50 cm. That's huge! Thankfully they aren't poisonous to us. That we know of. 👀

Random science fact: you might think the one-toed amphiuma is a snake or an eel, but you'd be wrong. This is an elongated salamander! It has tiny limbs that basically serve no purpose, each has a single toe. It has no gills, even though it has gill slits. It lives in mud or water.
