So we're living in a kakistocracy now. Cool, cool. It's the transition government to idiocracy.
In a similar vein, here's an extensive list of scientific discoveries that were later disproven by religion:

What day is it? Is it Steak & Blowjob Day today, or is it Pi Day? Well, since I'm a scientist who believes any day could be Steak & Blowjob Day, or at the very least Blowjob Day, let's talk about Pi.

Who first discovered it, anyway?

Raise your hands if you can't stomach the sound of trump's voice and aren't watching the SOTU speech to save both your ears and your mental health! 👋

So trump's criticizing the person who signed the US trade agreements with Canada and Mexico, saying "I blame our leadership for allowing it to happen," when he's the one who *checks notes* created, negotiated and signed the US-Mexico-and-Canada Trade Agreement in 2020. Am I getting this right?

I'm reminded of this same time in 2017 when I chose my own sanity over being well informed for about a year. About to reach that same level again. 😫

My backyard in Anchorage, AK in January. I'm about ready to pull out the lawnmower, because there's no need for a snowshovel anymore.

The seven republican deadly sins are weird and confusing. Empathy, poor, universal healthcare... Pride is still there, only it's a different kind of pride. What are the rest?

400 years ago they would have burned me as a witch. At this rate, it could still happen.

Guess who has more snow than I do up here in Alaska? This winter is so weird

Because of course he did. No reason to hide now.
Trump's right hand man (literally) just casually giving the Nazi salute... twice.

Ugh. I don't care what trump says, no one in Alaska calls it Mt. McKinley. We never have. It's always been Denali, the Great One. It will always be Denali. Not Mt. Denali, just Denali. It was Denali when I was 5, was Denali when I was 50, and it'll still be Denali tomorrow.

And now it's time for the annual article, "What Did We Get Stuck up Our Rectums Last Year?" There's an awful lot of people that accidentally "fell" on bottles in the shower. 🤔

Random science fact: not to get technical, but a pound of feathers weighs more than a pound of gold. How's this possible? Gold is measured in Troy ounces whereas feathers are measured in the Avoirdupois system. They aren't equal. One Troy ounce is 1.09714 Avoirdupois ounces. A Troy pound is 12 oz.

Random science fact: Certain fungi that grows on the fur of sloths has anti-cancer and anti- bacterial properties, potentially opening up new avenues for drug development. Kinda jealous that we can't grow cool fungi like that.

Random science fact: 8% of our DNA comes from remnants of ancient viruses. An additional 40% is made up of repetitive strings of DNA that's also thought to have viral origins. Almost half our DNA didn't come from us! That's a lot of outsourcing.

Random science fact: the largest plant in the world is a sprawling sea grass (Posidonia australis) found in Shark Bay off the coast of Australia. It stretches for more than 112 square miles (180 km) and is about 4500 years old. Beat that!

Random science fact: lightning strikes the Earth about 100 times every second. When you do the math, this calculates into about 8 million lightning strikes per day. Imagine if we could harness that electricity! One lightning bolt has enough power for a small town for an entire day.

Random science fact: cats don't have a sweet tooth because they can't taste sweet. But do you know what they can taste that we can't? ATP, or adenosine triphosphate, which is the chemical that supplies the energy in every living cell. I wonder what that tastes like. 🤔
