Say what you want about mainstream corporate media, at least they hired (used to hire?) actual journalists
Global News laid off 26 journalists in B.C. and Alberta today.

In B.C. the layoffs include virtually all of the online team, along with many others.

The business is increasingly cruel, and the hollowing out of newsrooms providing fair and reliable information continues to suck.

Just wrote to Victoria city councillor Mat Dell (my area rep) about a city project's use of a toxic chemical. I've been dealing with a persistent asthma reaction and been feeling pretty awful. It's not just an "odor" for those vulnerable. Need better communication and mitigation.

There are major threats to Canada's sovereignty right now. Losing our public broadcaster is one of them.
The CBC -as we know it -will cease to exist if Mr. Poilievre wins on Monday.
I think that matters.
