I swear I learned more about money working in bars and clubs than I have in actual college level accounting classes. But also, if you can't respect the lived experience you theoretically contracted me for maybe don't argue with an accounting major about their invoice math like they did it wrong?

A day later somehow my original math for invoice hours is, in fact, correct. Extraordinarily, with no degrees (yet) I still know more about common invoicing/payroll conventions and am better at accurate financial calculation than the academic trying to gaslight me.

We're supposed to sympathize with the housed people and the cops that this is s nuisance - that such a nuisance wouldn't exist if someone was housed.

And this is how criminality is softly promoted. "Look, what a nuisance, urgh these people won't even get any help, what else can a cop do!"

Promoting "good cop" stories just entrenches fascism. It is designed to deliberately dull your anger against a system slowly killing you.

Don't fall for it.

Those fighting this admin based on the "rule of law" need to go one step further in your minds:

What law are you appealing to, and who does that law actually serve? What will you do when/if they take judicial fights to SCOTUS and SCOTUS rules the illegal thing now legal? Just say, "Oh well?"

(And I don't only say it to make myself feel better about only having invested in my own artistic enough to be fairly mediocre at them, but it does help that feeling a bit too 😅)

There's a reason I often bring up the fact that rich/famous people usually don't get that way without making significant compromises in who they will align themselves with and making choices that advance them individually vs investing energy heavily in dismantling power/strengthening community

Visa is too prudish to pay pornographers but will happily do deals with racists.
