It also seems more like the type of video you produce before a primary to persuade voters that you're the most electable candidate or as part of a DNC leadership campaign. Not sure what appeal to general election voters would be in touting primary victories - but perhaps it's good for fundraising.

Even if Murskowski and Collins (or someone else) were to flip, Paul would likely switch to "yes" anyway. The best hope at this point is the different factions on the fence in both the House and Senate fail to agree on a common bill. Unfortunately, House Rs seem to ultimately always fall in line...

Interestingly, for now (thanks in part to Trump), cosmopolitan Canada and Australia are delivering warning on moving to the right. The Australian Liberal party lost many suburban seats to green oriented independents (and to Labor) rather than far right like in Germany or UK. Preference voting helps.

Mirroring the election results in Canada, opposition leader Peter Dutton has lost his seat (likely by a resounding double digit margin).

ABC has called the election for Labor in what appears to be a landslide victory. It's especially incredible to see Labor ahead in first preference votes, even with a strong showing by the Greens. #Australia
