Update: Odds have slightly increased to 1 in 83. This is one of the highest probabilities of an impact from a significantly sized rock ever, making it a Torino scale 3. Most likely outcome is still a near miss. We continue to track it!

2/2 - nothing to panic about. Rock is not huge (meteor crater size) and the probabilities will most likely drop as more data comes in. Likely to be a very close approach in Dec of 2032. We've seen this before (2023 DZ2). One to keep an eye on for sure.

1/2 Newly discovered near-Earth asteroid 2024 YR4 (Seen here circled in purple) currently has a non-zero chance of impact on Dec 22, 2032. NASA CNEOS Sentry has odds at 1/190, with a Torino score of 1. Nominal Find_Orb close approach is 34,640km. Rock is about 60m wide. Odds likely to drop. 🔭
