As the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. wisely said, "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." Today and every day, I pledge to never silence my voice in the fight for what is right, and I will continue to march in the path he forged toward justice.

What’s the difference between a gov controlling an algorithm, silently eliminating reach for things it doesn’t like, vs the same gov using its power, to demand that the platform remove the things it doesn’t like.?

In China they are overt. With TikTok in the US, they control silently

Texas Republican Party threatens to censure Republicans who broke from far-right David Cook. Burrows is still a regressive voucher supporter, but more in line with ousted Phelan.
Rep. Dustin Burrows voted Texas House speaker in blow to insurgent GOP movement

While the free exchange of ideas via social media is something They™️ want squashed, it's also the upward financial mobility of young people, particularly artists that's a threat. Funky hometown-themed art prints? A great family photographer? A local baker? They grew their business on social media.
