SoMe is full of bots, and I don’t have that kind of time tbh… to slowly and carefully consider that mountain of repetitive 💩.

Never mind Bayesian analysis with considered prior something something.

Please read this & help save the State Library of Victoria, entering its 'now fully trashed' era. I didn't go to uni - for me the Library was higher education in later life, research for my job, a revelation about what ordinary people could have access to. It changed my life. Not just a building.
The State Library of Victoria’s ‘major’ proposed cuts include slashing the number of reference librarians and free computers for public access. Some staff are shocked.
Proposed cuts at State Library of Victoria go against its mission – and will hurt the disadvantaged

I intentionally use Covid in present tense because I am a disability reporter, and it is a mass disabling event, even if acute deaths are down.
Maybe unpopular take but I think "during COVID" is fine!
Death data show a clear acute phase from spring 2020 until spring 2022. Since then deaths have steadily trended downward and this winter fell below flu deaths. You can take COVID seriously and still talk about the worst of it in the past tense

Children were sent back to schools with the messaging that COVID is mild for them and immunity debt from lockdown was a thing and neither is true and please feel free to show me the evidence and I will happily show you thousands of studies showing how post infection risk is harmful to everyone.

Long COVID isn’t just a bunch of lingering symptoms. A new study shows it can stop peoole doing what they want to do, and need to do.

My comments @newscientist.com
The world is losing major ground in the fight against measles. In some countries, we're seeing measles outbreaks that haven't been this large since the 1980s or 90s

Why are so many children getting long COVID?
A study by Researching COVID to Enhance Recovery (RECOVER) last year found that up to 5.8 million American children now have long COVID.

Substitute the word childcare for agecare and reprint - ITS THE SAME!!

Its a TOTAL MISTAKE for profit and care to be in the same sentance.

Profit comes before safety inside Australia's childcare centres
For those like me who have been investigating childcare for almost a year now, the news was horrifying but not a surprise.

It’s time to ask our newly elected federal representatives to advocate loudly for equitable access to the promised full portfolio of C19 injection options, especially Novavax for the thousands of Australians for whom mRNA is contraindicated.
