What's with the third ship's tower having what looks like iron grating between the platform's supports?

Also some internal sound dampening. Echoes are not our friends.

Although Sunkist-branded products other than fresh fruit may be licensed production - Sunkist soft drinks come from Keurig Dr. Pepper, the fruit snacks are from General Mills, and the "Fruit Gems" candy are made by Jelly Belly (and in Canada the juice is from Lassonde Industries).

I think most of the red states would stay red overall, but the margins wouldn't necessarily be enough for the House to be skewed rightward, and more competitive races might change turnout enough to flip a (very) small number of Senate seats. And yes, there are a lot of people who like authoritarians

The theory is the slack in the rope around the inside of the aspis would be used to create a loop that the next hoplite to the left could grasp with his left hand while also holding his own shield's grip. Article's by Andrew Yamato of The Greek Phalanx.

There's a nice article in this month's Ancient Warfare suggesting the rope and secondary antilabe on the aspis are for the next guy over to hold on to during the initial march to help keep lines dressed until it's time to prepare for engagement.

Fairly decent. Double-edged leaf-shaped blade, with most around 45-60cm. Both length and weight pretty comparable to a gladius, but different blade shape.

As an aside, there was one ship-of-the-line based out of Halifax. It was HMS Africa, a 64-gun veteran of Trafalgar that was broken up in 1814.

I'd missed the last couple tournaments, and seeing his fighting style immediately made me think of a slightly more restrained Ura. I'm watching the Day 5 highlights now, and that Midorifuji-Churanoumi bout is one of the longest I can remember seeing.

To be fair, everyone else's frigates were silly little things compared to the big 44s. Constitution's broadside was around 90% that of the 74-gun HMS Bellerophon and about 120% the broadside of the old (but still in service) 64-gun third-rates.

It is good to bring out the spare admirals from time to time to encourage the others.

Yay! I was going to bring up the freaky giant shrimp, but figured they'd appear somewhere in this thread.

Building a steam-powered submarine is a funny joke. Building eighteen of them is an unbelievable Kalamity.
