"There is a notable gap in strong study designs (such as randomized controlled trials and studies that involve large numbers of participants)"

They are literally arguing for large scale RCTs for PPE during Ebola outbreaks because they don't believe in physical science or the precautionary principle

Same. I grew up with CBC radio always on and as an adult, I listened for a good 20 years before I had to stop out of frustration due to the constant misinformation. I turn it on in the car sometimes and always turn it back off. It just makes me feel mournful, like I lost an important friend.

As a healthcare worker, I've never heard orderly used between healthcare workers but I do hear non-healthcare workers say it. It feels like it's an outdated term to me that the general population hasn't caught on about yet (likely with regional variations of use of course!)

Not to mention the number of times people replace their blue masks because they take them off between each patient (only required patient facing) and then get a new one when they have to go back in while I just leave my N95 in place. I'm sure they're spending more on them than on me!

Our conservative run neighbour has rapid tests for free. Please take a minute to ask the @susanholtnb.bsky.social government why it is not possible for us to have the same. (That’s it)

Is this just an AI failure where it changes it's "summary" every time (since it really can't understand WHY something is important) rather than the province changing its input documents?

Wow, that's a lot of:

HOW can we do this thing and beat out others ("own the podium"?!? Seriously?!?)

and not a lot of:

SHOULD we do this.

The closest they come to questioning the SHOULD is what safeguards we should have to do this thing we are definitely going to do no matter how appropriate.

Unfortunately my gasts are in no way flabbered. NB doesn't believe in airborne transmission either and droplets are the basis for our infection control (other than the fabled "AGMP" 🤦‍♀️)

The average age of my brother's med school class was 29. You might not be much older than you think 😊

We have HEPAs running in every room (amazing for allergies too!) and wear N95s in public including elementary school and work (hospital). COVID came home once and we turned one room into a negative pressure room (box fan blowing OUT the window), N95s everywhere else in the small house and it worked

They seem to have reversed the label, at least...

How is this labeled "self-harm"??!

First time I saw a doctor admit to not knowing something, look it up in front of me, and use references to figure out what to do, I was in my 30s and had long convinced myself I wasn't "smart" enough to be a doctor since there was no way I could memorize "all of medicine". I still regret not trying.

15=10+5

10x24=240

5=10/2 --> 24/2=12 --> 12x10=120

240+120=360

Non-stigmatizing: The White House is clearly lying about Trump's health.

Stigmatizing: Look at this gross, unhealthy thing on this hand. Haha!!!

They should just give him the Ig Nobel and tell him it's a Nobel and that the Ig stands for Impressively Great.

I assess people's swallowing for a living and they tried to force us to use AI for reports (tests that are 90% analysis of x-ray images, 5% putting my thoughts into words, 5% typing. So not a time saver!). The trial I did came up with recommendations that were so contrary to evidence it was scary.

To @susanholtnb.bsky.social and all others running this province. Please consider giving us the tools we need to stay safe in the face of this quickly changing climate. The fact that we STILL don’t have clean air, a plan towards or mitigation measures in place instead is absurd.
