I grew up in Boca Raton. My kids grew up in SE Alabama. Ten or so years ago during a visit to Boca when the kids were elementary aged, one of them asked “Why does everyone here look so weird?” It’s the plastic surgery, kid!

Yes. I’ve had to explicitly teach this to my own high school aged children. The idea that there used to be some level civility in American politics is foreign to them.
Do political science profs have to explain to their students that, for most of American history, it was actually borderline unthinkable that elected officials and their spokespersons would constantly talk like trashy reality show contestants?
After calling Schumer a "Palestinian," Leavitt refers to "Gavin Newscum." So she's just ripping off her boss's smears now.

Lots of hard, shitty lessons being learned from this presidency. And one of the many I hope you're learning is, white supremacy is incompatible with reality, and cannot exist without historical revisionism.
1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️

Arab. But exactly zero people would be touristing there.
What’s the word where you’re from that, when pronounced exactly as it looks, identifies a tourist immediately?

“We have too many students graduating college who are leaving the state”, and they think the solution is forcing higher ed to focus on Alabama’s workforce needs. I mean, that’s one way to decimate the out-of-state-tuition-dollars pipeline

Is this whole Epstein story having legs thing really just a way for republicans to get out from under trump without having to admit they’re complicit or dupes?
