I taught HS ELA at the exact time that common core forced the removal of lengthy texts. We saw this coming. I can lay the start of this ⬆️ over the most impacted matric. cohorts bc my own kid is a college fresh.
You now teach kids who have never been required to engage with long texts or novels.

Yes. He acknowledged the obvious fact that broad, indiscriminate immigration raids would destroy any trust/relationships that law enforcement at all levels has with immigrant communities. No more informants, victims not reporting crimes, witnesses not coming forward, etc.

Yes. In conversation with the regional FBI director (who retired soon after the new administration took office) six months ago, he acknowledged that trafficking of all things, property crime, sexual assault, gang activity would all likely proliferate due to the trump/miller immigration policy.

Perhaps not though? It’s a perfect example to show that “getting work ideology out of schools” = wealthy and/or violent men get to be the hero of all literature and history. Even if you have to lie to make it so.
