Saw Sardines at @huntingtontheatre.bsky.social by/starring @chrisgrace.com and it was fantastic! If you are in Boston (or where ever else it is showing) you should see it! One of the best shows about death that I have seen.

This year (5786), I have decided to read from this book weekly about the parshas. I love new ways of connecting to Judaism, especially queer ways. The first chapter was a great reminder that we were all made in Gds image, gay straight bi pan trans cis agender nonbinary.

For dinner tonight with my mother-in-law, I made a chocolate terrine. It is gluten free and yummy. Next time I might see if I can infuse lavender or peppercorns into it to build up some interesting flavors.

No Kings Day with the family & @rnavarre.bsky.social! My son made a sign saying "Dinosaurs are Nice and They Give Hugs" with pictures of dinosaurs and boats. In my small town, I was told there were about 450 people!

Rainy day project: Sy & I made lemony blondies with a lemon sumac glaze from Jake Cohens new cookbook. Sy learned how to zest and spreading a glaze evenly (he even made up a song about spreading). They are delicious, especially if you like lemon.

The first mention of Challah is in בְּמִדְבַּר (Numbers) 15:20. In the Mishnah, there is a whole tractate around challah, which focuses on dough offering. While the challah may look different in different Jewish cultures, (braiding started in Germany/Austria around the 1500s).

Spending the next couple of days focusing on preparing for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year (well, one of them...). If you have any questions about prep or the holiday, feel free to ask. I host this and other holidays a lot and happy to support. And this is just one of my Tupperwares of carrots!
