#grapheneos for #pixel10 is finally here! The installation process was straightforward, but the most impressive aspect is how it restores (almost) all applications, along with their data. This is done from a backup, so you can do it even if your previous […]

It's funny it came with pre-installed Windows even though I specifically ordered it without OS.
Windows are gone now. #fedora #silverblue rules the computer now.

The new #pc arrived! \o/
Thanks to everyone who gave me feedback on the configuration last week. I've made a couple of changes based on it such as getting a X870E motherboard and a faster disk.

I played with GUI for #linux Desktop Migration Tool today. It is still rough around the edges, but it looks promising. Some operations such as selecting applications to reinstall can be done much more easily in GUI than in CLI.

Finally, we have an internet connection worthy of 2025. But the story behind it...

Our LTE connection was originally 50/10 Mbps, and the actual speeds remained the same even after increasing the speed to 100/20 Mbps. I spent a lot of time with O2 support […]

One of my posts here gained popularity in the #flathub vs. traditional #linux distributions debate and I still stand by my claim that @flathub enforces its rules more strictly than Linux distributions and checks maintainers more thoroughly. None of my […]

I finally have a #pixel10pro. Now it's going in the drawer, and I'll be rooting for the #grapheneos developers to finish support for it as soon as possible.

The state of #instantmessaging in 2025: I have one virtual workspace dedicated solely to #im clients. They occupy 820 MB of memory, which is actually an improvement since the last time I checked.

But I still miss the days when all I needed was #pidgin.

@nirik I upload data from our station to Windy.com. One of the benefits is that I can compare the actual data with values forecast by different models and get some sense of what is the best model for our location.
As you can see the wind direction is […]

TIL that #mapycom is more than just a renderer on top of #openstreetmap. They actually import buildings from #overture, which #osm doesn't consider reliable enough for automatic imports.

From what I've seen, the results are mixed in Greece, with many buildings that don't exist in reality.

Another #ev in the family! My sister-in-law has bought an #volkswagen #id3. I have to say it's a really nice car. If you're looking for an affordable EV, it's a great option. You can find a used one in excellent condition for €16-17k. Still with a range of […]

Yesterday, I stopped at a charging station in Mořice. It was probably the best charging experience I've had so far. There were 14 400 kW chargers, sheltered, with a picnic area, and a bistro nearby. I later learned that it had opened just four days ago […]

Just out of curiosity I tried vibecoding a GUI app (written in Python, GTK and libadwaita) based on the migration script in Cursor.
It really rewrote every feature, created a desktop file, AppStream metadata, icon, flatpak manifest... I started getting an […]

Our five-year-old wanted an electric kids' car. After two weeks, she realized that she wouldn't be able to save €300 in the near future, so she decided to build her own.

#grapheneos is already based on #android 16. They also deliver security fixes more quickly than Google itself.

Switching to GrapheneOS was the best phone-related decision I've made in years. I hope phones will be available for it in future. I just can't […]

Just so you know, #osmand is celebrating its 15th anniversary with 50% off its plans, which you can now pay for directly without paying the 'app tax' to Google or Apple.

I highly recommend OsmAnd — it's a Swiss army knife for maps! Open source. Based on […]
