The local representative that I voted for because he was better than his Trump-endorsed opponent supported the bill that's going to keep me from getting care on Medicaid

Mahmoud Khalil is finally home with his beautiful wife and newborn son.

Each one of the 104 days he spent detained was a grave injustice.

From the moment of his detention, @ccrjustice.org + @aclu.org engaged my office as we worked closely to help secure his release. They did remarkable work here.
Mahmoud Khalil emerges from airport security with his wife Noor and newborn, legal team and Rep. AOC.

If Senate Dems really wanted to replace Schumer they could but I suspect his aversion to confrontation reflects the actual prevailing sentiment in the rest of the caucus, they don't want something different

1. The far right is falsely spreading that a new study shows that surgery "doubles depression" for transgender people.

This is an egregious misreading of the study, which does not look at transgender people before and after surgery.

Lets dig in.
Debunked: No, New Study Does Not Show Transgender Surgeries Double Depression
The study, which has been paraded around right-wing media sources, does not evaluate the impact of surgery on transgender depression rates.

To be clear, I consider this a positive development. And this irreverent silliness has always been a part of the series' personality in one form or another!
Yakuza in 2006: a gritty drama about a man perpetually unable to escape the looming shadow of his criminal past and seeing his loved ones fall one by one as he attempts in vain to put right what has been wronged.

South Korea still has major problems, but it's sad that many countries can't even seem to meet this bare minimum standard
What the hell? A functioning democracy that can hold its leaders accountable and even depose them over their authoritarian actions? Who would thunk it 🙃
South Korean president impeached and suspended from duties
The National Assembly passed the motion 204-85.

Sen. Bernie Sanders goes scorched earth, saying "The Democrats ran a campaign protecting the status quo and tinkering around the edges" and that its leadership "are much too wedded to the billionaires and corporate interests that fund their campaigns."

Clallam County, my home county, likely ended its 40-year bellwether streak by voting for Harris. And the district overall elected a queer woman of color to Congress.
So despite everything, I'm proud of my old home. Thank you, for trying to do the right thing 💚
