A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.
Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

Exiting a bus this morning in suburban Dublin when I see an old Irish man make a rude gesture as he says “Trump and Vance” He then grasps a Ukrainian man in solidarity who is also exiting the bus with his wife and elderly mother.

There is too much branding in these fields.

If you are in UX, you should learn about JJ Gibson … he came up with the idea of affordances.

If you are in UX, you should learn about JJ Gibson … he came up with the idea of affordances.
Just discovered this photo of my grandfather and 2 of his 5 siblings. For Irish orphans they managed to see the world. 1 settled in UK -1 in the US - 1 in Hong Kong - and 1 in New Zealand (2 stayed in Ireland) … but a meet up in Tahiti made sense for 3 of them!

Too simple - said no user ever/ NNG group
I have had a user say this & observed it in a usability test. The call to actions were so clear that the user’s were mindlessly clicking them. They did not build a mental model. So when the automation didn’t work as expected - they were at a loss.

If you have worked for the US government in the past … you understand why the proposed DOGE is a lack of understanding of the federal workforce.
Some light reading for EVERYONE who has an opinion about the DOGE.
This is what the LAW says. This is not an opinion.
Since law is a"reactive" mechanism (most of the time)... Please think about the magnitude of past problems that led to this.
