Thanks to symbols that are WAY TOO SIMILAR, I had to redo a chunk of it. 😩

BEHOLD, all of the colors, accounted for and prepared!
A dazzling assortment of embroidery floss, all trimmed to 18” lengths and strung on white 3D printed thread drops, as well as white plastic 3D printed thread cards with less voluminous amounts of floss strung through the holes. Thread drops are clipped to 3 large silver rings, and there are 3 thread cards, 2 full and 1 partially full. There are 131 colors in total, many warm golden browns and soft autumn tones, with a few brighter colors mixed in. Three large silver ring clips, each full of 3D printed white thread drops with many, many different colors of embroidery floss trimmed to lengths and attached to the thread drops. The labels from individual skeins of embroidery floss are affixed to the thread drops, with numbers identifying each color visible.

Cursed Cross-Stitch update: walked to the craft store and FINALLY obtained the correct color (3817). Burned my (non-dominant) hand last night while making dinner. Husband forgot to print the pattern pages yesterday while in a place with working printers.

The curse continues.

The missing skein has been located. In my searching last night, I failed to account for CATS. They had run off with it and had it mixed in with their toys. Sterling continued to try to “help” while I untangled it.

Progress.

A productive day at the New England Fiber Festival! Everyone had a good time, and a delightful collection of sock yarn was acquired.
A collection of 7 skeins of hand-dyed yarn: 3 large skeins, 4 mini skeins. The mini skeins have labels from Wild Violet Fibers, two of the large skeins have labels from Into The Whirled, and one large skein from White Birch. Colors, L to R: dark burgundy purple mini; a large speckled warm light gray with dark purple, navy, and green accents; large autumnal rainbow; large cream speckle with pale blues, greens, reds, rust, and yellow; mini muted blue-green. I carried all of this home and nothing bad happened (but maybe my back hates me?). Biggest sugar pumpkins I’ve ever had (brown bags are each a pound of fresh cranberries).

I finally caved this ear and got the sheep ears.

This cake is literally half frosting (incredibly fluffy and light cream cheese frosting) and no one is complaining.

I’ve gotta hand it to Lyndell’s, they know how to make a good cake. (Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, it’s so huge we will be eating it for days and days.)

It took way too many hours of my life but I made slab quiches for the teachers’ breakfast tomorrow. Leek and goat cheese, tomato and caramelized onion.

Summer salads are the best.
