We exist for one reason — to present facts and ask the hard questions like:

👉 Why is Australia’s sovereign wealth fund not worth multiple trillions?

👉 Why do both major parties refuse to tax our finite natural resources how they should be taxed? Very highly!!

👉Why doesn’t the gov build houses?
This is what a well functioning democracy looks like. Presidential overreach thwarted in under a day and the person responsible removed from office. Australia and the US would do well to learn from this and strengthen our own systems and institutions against such overreach and abuse.

The fact that no one from McKinsey is going to jail makes this a nothing burger. They will make this amount back in a quarter. Multiple executives should have been jailed for this, along with of course the Purdue board and executive and every doctor who over prescribed OxyContin.

McKinsey’s latest horror show. At last admitting their corrupt collusion with Purdue Pharma on OxyContin. Many lives lost. Turning now to monetise the climate crisis, working both sides of the street as ever: big fossil fuel clients while greenwashing policy. Credibility: zilch. Corruption: 💯

If only we were collecting 60-70% in royalties from all our vast natural resources we could absolutely ensure that not a single Aussie ever became homeless. Unfortunately we continue to prioritise the wealth and wellbeing of a tiny handful of influential people and companies instead of the majority.
Additional 10,000 Aussies a month falling into homelessness moves us from crisis towards a country none of us want.

More action from all levels of govt is urgent.

Important work from Homelessness Aus & Prof Hal Pawson from UNSW City Futures.

As if there wasn’t enough evidence already that the cost and timelines even upfront are just not feasible for Australia, let alone the cost of ongoing generation being higher than renewables, here’s yet another data point on why nuclear doesn’t make sense for us! We have so many better options.

The evidence is clear but after the Libs’ scare campaign of they’re taking your utes away during the Shorten campaign, neither party will attempt anything serious to ban or discourage these behemoths from our roads.

Anyone not using them for trades should not be eligible for these incentives!
A tax system that incentivises people buying big utes for "work" is terrible for the environment.

Emissions from passenger cars have fallen since 2005.

But that has been more than cancelled out by the increase in emissions from utes and other light commercial vehicles.

Voters won’t forget how both major parties have treated and continue to treat whistleblowers — like criminals instead of heroes. Absolutely despicable and goes against everything good government and a strong Australia should stand for! #whistleblowers #auspol shame on @australianlabor.bsky.social
Anthony Albanese and Mark Dreyfus have failed whistleblowers and Australians. It’s been left to the crossbench (Pocock, Lambie, Haines & Wilkie) to introduce a Bill to strengthen Australia's whistleblower protection laws and establish a Whistleblower Protection Authority. 🤷‍♂️ #auspol

Labor’s push to ban social media for teens while ignoring the harm of gambling ads is a glaring double standard. Why fast-track unproven social media laws but sideline gambling ad reform—something over 70% of Australians support?

Community Independents are the best way to add balance and common sense back to our government. Both major parties seem to have lost the plot with their self-serving policies and lack of radical reform. Independents will hold them accountable.
There’s nothing we can do about the US and their fast declining democracy - but there’s a lot we can do locally.

Wondering which MPs have consistently voted against strengthening whistleblower protections and which ones have shown integrity? Here's a great resource from the Open Australia foundation that tells you exactly how your MP voted: theyvoteforyou.org.au/policies/90 #auspol #whistleblowers

What an excellent depiction of our bullshit whistleblower laws that have been used and abused by both parties to silence these heroes who dare to stand up and speak the truth. Absolutely despicable that neither major party is interested in strengthening our whistleblower laws!
