I think more likely that since O2 own the venues they took most of the allocation to sell before the band.

I managed to get through when the presale link finally arrived, to find it showing all Brixton tickets sold out. Remembered I have O2 Priority access and it turns out they have loads of tickets available - if you or a friend has O2 or Virgin Media try that!
