Today I was proud to join with colleagues, including Representative Darrin Madison and Representative Ryan Clancy, in introducing the Conditions of Confinement Legislative Package.

Armed thugs terrorizing families is cruel and un-American. I might also remind the President that some of the judges ruling against him were people he himself appointed.

It's not about party, it's about right and wrong.

Yesterday I participated in a food drive at Project Concern in Cudahy in light of November’s interruption of food assistance from the federal government.

If you have food to donate to those in need, you can bring non-perishable items to any Milwaukee Public School, Police District, or Library.

Interning at the Capitol can make you thirsty - but not as thirsty as an AI data center.

ICE is stockpiling arms, including chemical weapons, guided missile warheads and explosive components. The spending dwarfs anything we've ever seen in the agency - a 700% increase.

The President is building an army to attack his own country.

Yesterday I was proud to join with a bipartisan group of legislators in support of Ukrainian families that are being torn apart by the Putin Regime in Russia.

If passed, our Joint Resolution would make WI the first state to formally condemn Russia's cruel abduction of Ukrainian children.

Eventually, they decided to cut off my mic. I guess, as they say, the truth hurts.

I continued my story

My Republican colleagues did not like that.

So I started to give an example of how Kirk's tragic death has been weaponized by some on the right to intimidate and silence political opposition to the current regime.
October 16, 2025 at 7:52 PM
I think I know why.

Rather conspicuously, the resolution they drafted had nothing to say about political violence.

On Tuesday, Wisconsin Republicans brought to a vote a resolution to honor Charlie Kirk, a far-right activist who was tragically murdered for his political views.

Wishing you all a joyous and reflective Indigenous People’s Day! As the Brewers prepare to take on the Dodgers tonight, don’t forget the contributions this season of Anthony Seigler, a proud member of the Navajo Nation.

Republicans in Congress let the government shut down because they want you to pay more for healthcare.

A 55 year-old couple making $85,000 who buys health insurance on the ACA exchange would see healthcare premiums increase more than threefold unless Congress acts.

The data center stampede is on, and Wisconsin is woefully unprepared.

With no warning, ICE has detained Des Moines Public Schools Superintendent Ian Roberts. No reason has yet been provided for the detainment.

Roberts is a native of Guyana and a former Olympic Athlete, and by all accounts is a well-regarded member of the Des Moines community.

How do you do, fellow kids?

Okay, so I'm old, and I don't skateboard, but that doesn't mean it should be illegal. In WI, it is against the law to ride a skateboard on the street.

I'm proud to have introduced a bipartisan bill that would allow communities to set their own skateboarding regulations.

Got to catch up briefly with my friend WI State Superintendent Dr. Jill Underly yesterday as she gave her State of Education Address.

One standout line was when she said schools are places “where differences aren’t feared, but embraced and seen as opportunities to grow together as human beings.”

Did you know that since 2019, adoption of solar energy in the U.S. has increased four-fold while the cost has come down by 75%?

If you were in the room for today's "Energy University" at the Capitol, you would have heard this and many other interesting facts about solar power's enormous potential.

This picture - "The Scourged Back" - is of former enslaved man Peter Gordon, and until recently was displayed at Harper's Ferry National Historic Park in West Virginia.

It was ordered removed at Trump's behest. We will never forget.

Today I was proud to join with my Assembly colleague Rep. Darrin Madison in convening an amazing panel for the first in a series of conversations about our Clean Energy future that we are calling “Wisconsin Energy University.”

So the President of the U.S. plans to go to war with a major American city, presumably using napalm?

Waiting for a single elected Republican to condemn this unhinged behavior. Republicans in Congress can impeach and remove him from office at any time. What are they waiting for?

Trump's "Liberation Day" was April 2nd. On that day he announced a host of arbitrary and possibly illegal tariffs on multiple countries.

It would appear that the only things we've been liberated from since then are our money and any sort of meaningful job growth.
