There used to be a closer view from the north side.

As an American who’s traveled the world for decades, my biggest fear traveling was always baseless entanglements w/ corrupt local law enforcement.

Today’s America w/ its deeply corrupt ICE agents is the embodiment of what I use to only see abroad in non-democratic autocracies.

I would argue soft liberalism isn’t liberalism at all. For if you consider yourself a liberal yet are comfort w/ certain levels of inequality & injustice, you’re just pretending.

The same political party that treats a single murder by someone from a foreign country as a pretext for "a complete & total shutdown" of immigration from that country, is at the same time calling for a "let 'er rip" approach to AI chatbots that are harming (and sometimes killing) us in myriad ways.
