Last night was one of the quietest 4th of July's my neighborhood has ever seen. Yes, we did have a couple of asshats shooting off illegal fireworks until midnight, but the number of families using safe and sane greatly diminished. I find this very encouraging. People are protesting.

Learned something very disturbing today. In California your dog can viciously tear apart another person's dog, and you can still fucking keep it. My 91 year old stepmother saw her precious dog torn apart in front of her, and the owner is not held accountable. I am absolutely livid.
