It’s killing me that I just saw Sinister, often deemed the scariest movie of all time, on Disney+ 💀

Scariest movie ever next to Monsters Inc 😭

I hate how we’ve gotten to the point in society where streamers play ads in the middle of movies

Here it comes – the radical right’s move to suppress dissent

If you don’t think it can happen here… wake up

Vice President JD Vance hosted Charlie Kirk’s podcast as he mourns his friend and potentially cements his position as the heir to the political movement built by Kirk, a powerful GOP force.

It’s so rich (and terrifying) that those on the radical right respond to being called fascists by calling for the end of the Democratic Party. Do you get you’re behaving exactly like fascists? Wiping out political rivals is literally a core tenet of fascism. You are actively proving them right!

I sure don’t remember all this pearl-clutching about political violence when the MN state rep was assassinated. Or after the attempted assassination of PA Gov. Shapiro. Sure af not with Paul Pelosi

Makes it feel like violence is only inexcusable when people on the radical right are targeted

We must stand resolutely against political assassination and political violence of all kinds, and just as resolutely against everyone who exploits acts of violence as the pretext or excuse for political repression of political opponents.

We've compiled a list of the top things the feds and MPD are arresting or pulling people over for. Please read through our list and avoid doing these things for the time being.

We've separated our list into driving-related and non-driving related offenses.

Of all the f’d up things in the 14(!) edicts by the GOP House effectively ending DC home rule, jailing the homeless sticks out

Obviously a homeless person couldn’t pay a $500 fine for “camping on public property,” so they would be thrown in jail

This is not what happens in a democratic society
House GOP weighing bills to remove elected D.C. AG, overhaul justice policies
The bills could shepherd in some of the most intense interventions in the city’s justice system since the federal government took over the local courts in the 1990s.

There is no explicit prohibition against the President cancelling elections, so it's hard to see why liberals think they are entitled to elections in 2026 and 2028.

I can't tell if they're racing to get ahead of the Epstein Files, or racing to get ahead of a tariff-driven economic crash, or racing to get ahead of Trump's health issues, or all of the above.
Is Trump's Declining Health Driving the MAGA Rush to Autocracy?

Donald Trump is an aging, criminal vulgarian with cankles and a troublesome wound he's trying to hide on his right forehand. The MAGA ramp-up on fascism could be a sign their King is ailing.

The Commanders’ not-awesome depth will be truly tested this season

Book it

Thank you Ron Rivera and your years of awful drafting

Adam Peters has made some great moves so far but he can only do so much to refill the cupboards in two offseasons

Ok. It feels like quite literally everything is worse than it was 5 years ago. Products, commercials, the world etc.

So I ask: what are you experiencing that you feel is better than it was 5 years ago?

There’s no longer any pretense this has anything to do with crime (there are cities or parts of cities in SC and Ohio that have higher crime rates than DC — send the troops there!). This is about establishing a precedent for Trump seizing control of the nation’s capital when he wants to.
WASHINGTON (AP) — South Carolina, Ohio also sending National Guard troops to DC in further escalation of federal intervention in Dem city.

This is THE slippery slope.

Plus the following clip in this thread by @atrupar.com where Chairman Comer puts it in an explicitly partisan and ideological frame, saying: "I think this is an experiment that's probably needed in a lot of the Democrat-run cities in America."
Comer: "We're gonna support doing this in other cities if it works out in Washington DC. We spend a lot on our military. Our military has been in many countries around the world for the past two decades walking the streets trying to reduce crime. We need to focus on the big cities in America now."

Almost no one has been arrested because D.C. isn’t actually a crime-ridden hellhole.
