BBCiPlayer is by their own design not available legally outside the UK
If it is available through a VPN that disguises your IP location or through someone else streaming on say YouTube, can that legally as a matter of Florida/US law be pinned on the Corporation
Seems harsh…and that’s only Step 1

Managers cite concern for students in everything they do, but never actually prioritise student opinion or voices in any of their decision making. They do irreparable harm to student courses and turn around to staff and ask: ‘right: how can we improve student satisfaction and recruitment?’
We've had 2 massive mergers in 2 years. In both cases, QMUL refused to hear students (staff was told not to talk about it with students for fear of repercussions), and *after* both of them, management said 'our bad, we'll talk to students next time'.
#UKHE managers don't prioritise students.

Did @uniofnottingham.bsky.social consult any students before announcing the proposed course closures? @uonucu.bsky.social

A really interesting and valuable contribution to the NZ debate on residential home protests that we will inevitably have in the UK as latest amendments go through HL on Monday
FWIW, I agree though I realise tricky ..that private dwellings of politicians should generally remain out of bounds

I get concerns about expanding laws relating to protest but I reiterate my view that this Bill simply isn't that bad. At the outset, let me note that there is simply no way that "this one-woman protest" will be illegal under the proposed law. 🧵
Why this one-woman protest outside the PM’s residence could soon be illegal
It’s the PM’s official Wellington residence and it’s funded by taxpayers but soon it could be a crime to protest outside it. Meet the solo protester who doesn’t think that’s fair.

Never trust the short hand summary...despite what these amendments are called, the new offence will be committed by far more than making representations...the offence is committed by being in place X with a persuasive purpose

Lawyers call for clarity over law as six are found guilty while being stopped from using defence used by fellow activists
Six environmental protesters were convicted after they were denied the ability to put a “reasonable excuse” defence or climate facts before the jury, despite these being afforded to other activists acquitted for taking part in the same demonstration.
After an eight-day trial at Southwark crown court in London, the six Just Stop Oil (JSO) activists were found guilty of public nuisance, which carries a maximum 10-year sentence, for climbing gantries on the M25 in 2022 to demand an end to new fossil fuel projects. They will be sentenced next month. Continue reading...

It was said of Johnson who was PM at at time when laws his Govt passed, he himself broke
Not council planning bye-laws passed by a third party
But hey, water off a ducks back when the Tory press go a-hunting

The book was awful…Herron is an awful, ponderous writer who crafts wonderful yarns with the best set of characters thrown together…but as a writer evoking an atmosphere or simply taking story on a few pages, like a woeful sixth former or someone who managed part of a writing course in their 50s

The Oscar winner’s turn as a no-nonsense private investigator is a role model for women everywhere. She really shines alongside Ruth Wilson in this pacy, twisty thriller based on Mick Herron’s debut novel
