I don't even think this is a bad call, but they should have made explicit that the context of the reference was a) known and b) not exonerative

There are some factual errors in here that are worrying to the thesis of the argument. For example, while it's true that gas furnaces are now 90% efficient, that's not really a ceiling on heating, since heat pumps are effectively over 100% efficient (2-3x more heat moved than energy consumed)

Nothing will save you from the stuff people put in their string literals, unfortunately
