I love when people share stuff from their niche areas of interest and expertise. I always learn something and, often, am corrected. If I only learned about the core subjects of my interests I’d be a useless encyclopedia with no context for anything.

When Rob Reiner was on his all-time epic run at the start of his career, he had an opportunity to read a script that was looking for a production partner, and he lost his mind for it. He decided Castle Rock had to have it, no matter what.

What a fun idea!
This is awesome: a "WKRP in Cincinnati" fan created a three-hour Johnny Fever radio block, by using clips from the TV show and dropping in the full songs on his intros and outros, plus commercials and Les Nessman news breaks.

I couldn’t possibly speculate, as someone once said. But I would like to point you towards the non-partisan News Literacy Project, which I have supported for more than a decade, which aims to help students become discerning consumers of both news and what pretends to be news.

If a post contains something outrageous , but includes no sources or evidence, take a minute to fact check it before you repost. There's enough going on that we don't need to amplify incorrect info. It just obscures the real outrages and makes it easier for bad actors to dismiss them.

For the umpteenth time:

The institutions of this economy depend on the institutions of this democracy.
We've got to stress that democratic backsliding is what's *causing* our economic backsliding. The entire economy should not be held hostage by a mad king.

I'm seeing this powerful post a lot today, and I'd just like to make a plea for the norm on this platform to be more rewarding of posts that include sources.

I can't find these exact stats, but these are close and credible.

Just want to endorse the starter pack functionality here. So useful. When I first came to bluesky last year, what held me back was the time it was taking to rebuild a robust follow list. I know it's different in lots of ways, but the starter packs have been game changers.

There are a lot media executives and owners that have exactly two modes;

1) six figure splashy marketing event with big names and goodie bags to promote the brand on a trajectory of rapid growth

And

2) sorry everyone is laid off now

Don't want to be cranky on here, but the breaking news format where the story is simply updated in post form is tripping me up. I think it would be helpful to offer the traditional story as an option along with the real-time style and that should be clear on the homepage.
