I live in the weirdest part of my city. Most of my city is in one county, I live in a different one. Most of my city is in a township of the same name, I live in a different township. I pay high county taxes but get no real benefit from that county.

In my Pirate D&D campaign, the last adventure I connected 5 (technically 6) previous campaigns with NPCs and events. It was a super proud moment for me. I don't know if the players cared beyond a brief moment of "oh, that's that thing from that other thing" but sooo satisfying for me.
