There were kids inside when they snatched a preschool teacher.

They aren't abducting the worst of the worst. Teachers, laborers, food vendors, mothers, fathers. This is every day around here.

The inhumanity and the terror are the point. We are under siege from legalized terrorists.
I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this video.

I don’t know how we’ve gotten to the point where men in full balaclavas can abduct daycare teachers while they’re watching children.

But I do know that this isn’t sustainable. Abolish ICE. There is no way to reform this.

If I'm lucky, this will be the worst storm I ever experience. Only hopeful for that because it was unfathomably bad. Given the circumstances, it's very fortunate there weren't more casualties (even though those that were are already too many).
August 10, 2020:

One of the worst derechos in US history ravaged the Midwest. The MCS carved a path from eastern Nebraska to Michigan over the course of ~11 hours. Winds as high as 140 mph produced substantial crop and structural damage throughout Iowa and Illinois.

29 not counting airport only. 8 of the top 10 (missing NYC and Dallas). Longest streak of cities in a row = 3. (San Fran, LA, Chi; Phoenix, Jacksonville, Denver; Cleveland, Raleigh, San Antonio; St. Paul, OKC, Nashville; Albuquerque, Louisville, New Orleans).
How many y’all have visited? I’m up to 14

BREAKING: Scott Pelley just risked everything to make one thing clear:
The attack on free speech isn’t coming—it’s already here.

Journalists are being silenced, critics are being punished, and most of the media’s playing dead.

This is state-sponsored suppression. This is dictatorship in real time.

This is a jaw-dropping interview. Deputy secretary of DHS will not say that protest or criticism of the government is not a deportable offense. He also casually accepted the premise that Trump incited the Jan. 6 insurrection.

Great determined journalism here by NPR's Michel Martin.
In which the Department of Homeland Security struggles to answer a very simple question: "Is any criticism of the United States government a deportable offense?"

What Trump/Vance did today by attacking Zelensky using Putin's talking points would be like in 1940 FDR openly mocking Winston Churchill using Hitler's talking points as the Nazis bombed London. This was TREASONOUS!

Detained? For what? Hopefully we hear from Kendrick on this defending peaceful protest.
A performer who was part of Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show was detained by security after waving the Sudanese flag and Palestinian flags together with the words “Sudan” and “Gaza” written on them toward the end of the performance, the NFL says.

Simply hard to fathom how this Iowa team that struggled on defense last year has turned it around in one season to be able to hold this great USC to one first-quarter field goal.

Jim Acosta just powerfully announced on air he is leaving CNN with the words: "It is never a good time to bow down to a tyrant." He added, "Don’t give in to the lies. Don’t give in to the fear. Hold on to the truth and to hope." Amen. Jim will be missed.

Is Trump suggesting state owned media? I can’t stress how dangerous this is. I’m also concerned no one will care because they’ll get to keep their TikTok
January 19, 2025 at 5:18 PM
He's going to give TikTok a pass and take all the credit (maybe even force them to put his face on the logo or something), won't lose any support for doing so, and probably gain a modest but significant amount of support from young people. And it was teed up for him to do this. Unbelievable.

Made the classic move of driving away from my parking space this morning with my coffee mug on the roof of my car. It crashed to the ground before I made it out of the parking lot. Hope the person driving behind me got a laugh out of it.
