Anyway, here is another in my continuing “Endless” series. Lots of paths to follow in this one.

Feels a bit weird to post artwork images with everything going on in Los Angeles right now, but I guess making and looking at artwork provides good shelter during all of this. Losing myself in the artwork has definitely been a good distraction.

This one is maybe a bit more ominous with a storm on the horizon. The abstract quality of this work is also perhaps a little homage to a Rothko color field painting.

This new work is a bit of a nostalgic one for me. When I began working on this piece, I was thinking about some early landscapes I made about California’s hills and its seasonally shifting colors. I seem to always return to the California golden rollers.

Lots of layers and Easter eggs in this work. I am thinking about this piece as a sort of companion to the last finished work I posted (At Home on the Ranch, 2025).

I sat the imagery on top of some SRTM data, exaggerated the Z axis by 2x and put together this little video using the Qgis2threejs plugin. Pretty cool!

Back at UW, the seismologists look at station SHW, tracking Mount St. Helens on its western flank since 1972.

“Could it be Hood?” Weaver asks. They check the depth. Not Hood. The quake is under St. Helens.

They don’t know it yet, but the next chapter has begun. The silence is broken.
