Of course, you're right in that there is no such thing as a boiler tax - it's boiler companies increasing prices.

There is a bit of a misconception about high temperature heat pumps, ie that they are much less efficient because they generate higher temperature water.
But the reality is the high temps are not needed all that often. The temps they operate at are often much like low temperature heat pumps
