We launched our new Basic Income Factsheet, which our supporters across Canada are already mailing to their MPs

We already know the huge benefits of cutting poverty. What's less known are the economic and AI cases for basic income.

It's all in here.

Well, Sengled appears to have risen from the dead (or at least awakened from its coma). Had to reset a few bulbs, but everything appears to be working again. Alexa and Google Home both successfully relinked. Would have been nice to have heard something from the company about the outage, though.

I hope the already rising fractious grumbling in the party is only spurred on by the level of weakness this displays: that the leader would force a duly elected member to give up their seat so he can ineffectually whine at the Liberals in the House.

Conservative MP gives up seat for Pierre Poilievre to run in byelection
A Conservative MP is giving up his seat to allow Pierre Poilievre to run in a byelection after Prime Minister Mark Carney said he’d be ready to call one 'as soon as possible.'

Potato Soup today. And was pretty good, for a first time attempt. Note to self: cream-based soups do not seem to play well with the Instant Pot when using a flour roux before pressure cooking. The Dutch oven came in for the win.

Hummus is made. I love the fact that I can use an Instant Pot to cook chickpeas from dry without having to soak them and having yummy hummus in about an hour or so instead of twelve.

Cheddar and dijon toasty on homemade potato bread with Earl Grey tea at quarter of six in the morning? Don't mind if I do!

Day 2 (or is it 3?) of the storm. Still have snowfall warnings and blowing snow advisories until Tuesday. Plows off the roads until conditions improve. Nice night (yet again) to snuggle in bed with a good book. The dwarf fir in front of the house is disappearing under the snow.

Had to say goodbye to this precious little girl yesterday. The staff at the Atlantic Veterinary College Emergency Department were excellent at doing what they could for her but in the end it was time to let her go. You will be missed, Miss Dixie.

I usually wait until December, but decided to go ahead and spend a Sunday afternoon saying nasty things while putting together and decorating nice things. The dog supervised. Somewhat worriedly at certain points in the endeavor.

Slow cooker chicken and rice soup kind of day. Now if I can just get the dog to calm down about the smell of chicken soup until supper time ...

The Community Fridge in my area also has a Community Garden they run in the summer for food insecure people. Anyone interested in donating to a good cause can do so here.

Moderna Spikevax is kicking my ass today. Got the jab Thursday morning and last night started with chills and body aches. Never had a reaction to the Pfizer vaccines so this is less than fun.

Bit of a dreary day for High Tea, but that just means it will be in the Dedication Hall today. Good day for hot tea and warm goodies.
