Do you charge an EV with a 13A socket?

Did you know it needs a specially EV rated socket?

Suitable sockets are marked BS1363-2/EV on the backplate and labelled as suitable for EV charging. It should also be on an RCD protected circuit with a suitable type of RCD.

Does this mean I need to post this meme at myself? (I’ve been having sense of humour fails at so many otherwise smart people who’ll believe and repeat anything about AI - both positive and negative)

New Bambu lab 3d printer, first print with generic PLA. I did nothing other than the minimum setup, it even worked out what settings for the PLA itself. This is the pre-sliced benchy supplied by BambuLab. It took 20mins.

I am, needless to say, impressed.

This is one of the few photographs of me VJing. Some time in the late 90s. That’s a blue cropped club Alien T, black PVC trousers, many CRTs, a VineGen pro and dense lustrous head of hair.

I’m sad to hear of the passing of Tsutomu ‘Tom’ Matano, the designer of the Mazda MX-5.

I shall drive my Eunos Roadster sideways around the local ring road tonight in his memory.

The Register just wrote an article about AI+ML at Lloyds Banking Group. In which they mistook Halifax Bank of Scotland (HBOS) for Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS/NatWest Banking Group) and illustrated the article with the Lloyd's of London HQ.

Maybe some AI fact checking wouldn't go amiss?

Inspired by @glitchwolfe.studio I've dug out a few of my old video show animations from the "Virtual Visuals" days in the late 90s/early2000s.

Here's the first. It's an SGS Thompson #Transputer wafer reflecting bubbles from the surface of my aquarium, with the moonlight on.

The best CRT monitor ever is still the Microvitec CUB.

This thing survived roadies touring with some surprisingly big bands (The BBC Micro had a midi sequencer) But much more impressively survived classrooms in schools across the UK in the 1980s and early 90s.

I’m m pretty sure the guitarist in this picture is David St Hubbins who - to my best knowledge - hasn’t been associated thus far with Jane’s Addiction.

I would totally go to a gig where he replaced any member of Jane’s Adiction.

So who remembers when RCA had a vinyl video disk? No? This would be the correct answer, unless you’re @techconnectify.bsky.social

My job for 25years has been data storage based and I am super into obsolete formats. Until today I had never seen one, so behold Barbarella! In glorious mono NTSC.

Not a computer per-se, but this is the oldest thing made by an IT company that I own.

It’s an electrically wound central time source.
