Jose Barco, a decorated U.S. Army veteran once based out of Fort Carson who served 2 tours in Iraq, was taken into custody last month by ICE because his citizenship papers, which were supposed to be processed while he was in the Army, were lost.

Deborah Rutter was fired this week after a decade as president of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

She says the center worked hard to expand its audience by broadening the programming, inviting "all manner of arts and artists to our stages. ... I pray that that can be sustained."
