Friends who enjoy a mocktail, I just learned about these Italian non-alcoholic bitters sodas. I may be the last to find out, but just in case, these little gems actually taste like a Negroni. There are different brands, mine is Sanbitter. They are pricey since imported, but a lovely special treat

Before the hyperthyroidism set in, Gabby was a bit chonky and not a great jumper. Now that she’s at a vet-approved weight, she’s MUCH more mobile and goes everywhere I don’t want her to be. You will not be surprised to hear that I have def lost this battle.

Fourth course...crispy broccoli with broccoli wraps. I love the idea of this, but flavor wise, it was my least favorite.

There was also a really interesting dessert with a Caesar salad concept that I forgot to take a pic of.

In summary, vegetables are amazing and go to Dirty Candy if you can!

Another treat from the kitchen: carrot pita with falafel and pickled veggies...I would love to eat this for lunch for the rest of my life (it was so good I took a bit bite of it before I remembered to take a pic)

Third course: Artichoke-stuffed pasta with this amazing broth SO GOOD

Treat from the kitchen: cucumber and avocado aquachile, which was so good, and I would like to eat it every day

Second course: Spring peas in puff pastry with Thai curry and mango custard. We did the vegan option, and the puff pastry suffered from it. The peas were fresh and lovely

Okay...birthday dinner at Dirt Candy. My first time there, and it was truly amazing.

My cocktail: Japanese whisky, tamarind, ginger, and lemon, mmm.

First course: a fennel mousse that was so delicious we were scraping our dishes to get the last of the sauce.
