Wishlisted, but I think the algorithm is confused lol

Added a mechanic to my #roguelike #indiedev project. After each jump or air dash, the player has a brief window to activate a few seconds of slow motion and fire off a single, powerful shot

Going for some dynamic #metroidvania inspired airborne movement and combat

So apparently #godotengine has a mobile app??? Gonna test it out during downtime at work today to see if it's viable

Went ahead and knocked out another basic mechanic. Made it modular so we can set this up to transport the player up and down stairs, to different rooms, pretty much anywhere else in the same scene with minimal work. Should be useful 🙏

Obviously very much WIP, but here's an update on some of the basic mechanics for the adventure game I'm working on with @ovoid-opossum.bsky.social. Really liking how the mixed 2D/3D feels so far, and Dialogic is doing a ton of work for us

There's something neat about working on games in this "test room" phase. Just an eclectic collection of half finished assets brought together to test half finished mechanics. Creates a vibe that's both surreal and in a way kinda motivating.

Did some more mini painting with a couple giant frogs and a rat swarm

This time I tried out some different thinning, layering, and dry brushing techniques I've seen to mixed results

Obv still need practice, but I'm really enjoying the process of mini painting so far

Finally got around to trying out mini painting after years of putting it off. Just random Flumph and Tabaxi figures I had laying around

Still need to work on thinning my paints better so I don't drown out details among other things, but really not a bad start imo

Playing around some more with pixel art. I'm working on a tileset with a limited color palette and a sort of abstract style. Really just doing whatever feels good and not worrying about realism and readability as much. Feels more authentic

I've been practicing some pixel art lately. I've also been learning how to use the Pillow library in Python to generate some things like this night sky. I really like how it turned out

Finally caved and decided to try #Balatro last night. I figured I'd play a round or two before bed. There were complications 🙃

A little sneak peak at the "Familiars" system I'm working on adding to my game, Hail of Hexes. It'll allow players to add significant modifiers at the start of runs alongside thematically appropriate companions. Meet Ratthew the Pack Rat:
