Couldn't agree more with the "shallow focus". Absolutely winds me up!

Twenty years is not a probation period, it is a lifetime. If someone has lived here for nearly two decades, worked, paid taxes, raised children, and built roots, then to say “pack your bags, your country is safe now” is not policy, it is cruelty dressed up as process.

All well and good but why don't they apply it to their asylum seekers policy? Unfortunately it looks like the Labour party are going to follow the Danish version of "empathy". Empathy is not selective - you either have it for everyone or you don't have it at all.
