If we're talking about bias, why do BBC politics programmes, from Politics Live to the Laura Kuennsberg Show, still always begin with a look at the newspaper front pages, which are overwhelmingly biased in one direction. Helps frame the entire news agenda and debate in their favour

Funny how the “We’re not allowed to mention Christmas anymore!” brigade never complain about the Coca Cola “Holidays are coming” advert that has been going for years.

If you don’t like the BBC, I suggest that you go to America and watch their TV for a day. It gives you a migraine. The BBC also keeps the standards of the other outlets relatively high. If you think we watch shit now, imagine it with no BBC. And they actually care about drama, children’s, factual.

I swear to god, I bang on about the BBC News programmes that make me rage if I watch them (I haven’t for ages) but damn, if that infirm, dementia addled, egomaniac comes for them you’d best believe I’ll stand up for them.
The BBC is so much more than news.

Honestly, I did NOT have "punching the air and going HELL YES to Chris Patten" on my bingo card today. But what he says is SO rarely said and needed saying SO badly!
"How shall we treat Mr Farage's concerns? Shall we hail Brexit a tremendous success? Something that has cost the country billions?"

SUPERB and angrily unvarnished response, by former BBC chairman, Lord Patten.
"I don't think that we should allow ourselves to be bullied into thinking that the BBC is only any good, if it reflects the prejudice of the last person who shouted at it." ~AA

The BBC gives a voice/chance to aspiring writers/playwrights via radio and competitions. Also poetry. The winners are aired on Radio. They have also given present day well known actors a stepping stone onto the national theatre boards. They have made UK films for cinemas.
