The worst part about everything happening right now is just how stupid and unnecessary it all is. But it wouldn't be unnecessary if they weren't so stupid.

Severence casting is finding great undervalued actors and re-amplifying their powers: Robby Benson, Sandra Bernhardt, James LeGros, Jane Alexander. Also, a bullseye to this Gen X heart.

If you buy and support local indie businesses you'll find you're already boycotting everything on those boycott lists.

I often see fathers of my generation excited to show their child Star Wars for the first time. Perhaps it's good I'm not a father because I'd be excited to show my child their first Sidney Lumet police drama instead.

We will have a recession in the next four years. Not because of Trump but because of Republicans, who have tanked every economy the last 70 years and have given us 10 of the last 11 recessions. The size of its severity will be because of Trump. Good luck, everyone!

Growing up deep in the throes of Satanic Panic has prepared me for the onslaught of absolute BS of today, but even still I marvel at what people can believe.

Anytime I see a poll in a social issue anymore it's Gen X that embraces the worst ideas. What happened to us?

This Gen X'er supports whatever equivalent of "Okay, Boomer" put down is coming at us. We deserve it.

Where's the shock? A generation doing active shooter drills and nothing done because they were told "this was the price of freedom". If their friends death is acceptable than anyone's is.
Shock poll: 41 percent of young voters find killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO acceptable
A poll found 41 percent of adults under 30 consider the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson acceptable, more than the 40 percent in that demographic who consider it unacceptable. Anger o…

It’s so interesting to see these urgent exhortations to reestablish decorum. I have not seen evidence of a “coarsening” of American society. If anything, the opposite: I’ve seen thousands of individuals asserting their humanity and protesting the indignity of the system UHC profits from.

I did another 8:30am film showing again today, and this time it was for The Wild Robot. While I enjoy animated films when I sit down to view them it is difficult to get me to do so in the first place. But TWR pulled me in and I am grateful to have seen it, and also theatrically. A wonderful movie!

I don't give presents at Christmas, nor have I received presents for a few years now. Also I don't decorate or put up a Christmas tree. Funny how quickly Christmas became just another day for me, but it's still better than the miserable Christmases my family gave me as an adult.
