Union Park, Saint Paul, Minnesota urbanist. Give me all four seasons.

Call me "multi-modal." Folding/cargo bikes. Manual transmission elitist. Electrification. Winter tires. Car problem aficionado.

Cats. Kids. Patents. Sports. Ovalbore wannabe.
@blindeke.bsky.social -- we need to talk about Stillwater. Let's just say I think we have a difference of opinion on this one!
Minnesota’s riverfront cities can learn a lot from Stillwater
Removing traffic and building new bridge over the St. Croix River has paid off for tourist-friendly Stillwater.

Brand new street in #StillwaterMN and they didn’t extend the sidewalk another 30 feet to fill an isolated sidewalk gap. Truly perplexing. Maple and Owens.

What have we done to deserve this?
In a statement issued Wednesday morning, the Pohlad family said that after a monthslong process of searching for a potential new owner — they’ve instead decided to maintain principal ownership of the team.

Just heard that @mollycoleman.bsky.social won the Ward 4 election handily, proving (once again!) that the anti-street-safety 'tree truther' SARPA cranks have no juice. Congrats to Molly! I think she can be an excellent St. Paul City Council Member.

More trucks and SUVs are making traffic worse. They take up more space, require longer stopping distances, and are decreasing the capacity of the system.

This is how you induce people to break the mold. Driving shouldn’t always be the default but it’s been so easy that people have zombies their commutes in their cars.
“It prompted me to get out of the car, get some exercise in and relax on a bike instead of being stressed in a car in gridlock,” the 31-year-old south Minneapolis resident said. “I’m going to be a bike commuter.”
Drivers feel the pinch as I-94 construction rattles commutes and spills traffic onto city streets
Gridlock has been common on Franklin Avenue, Lake Street, University Avenue and Marshall Avenue as drivers try to take detours.

People I see on e-bikes:
- Seniors staying active and living their best life.
- Moms, dads and kids actually enjoying the school run.
- People getting groceries or running errands
- Service workers commuting on an affordable vehicle
