This is abhorrent, gratuitous cruelty. Anyone who claims to follow Jesus Christ should always be quick to feed the hungry. Deliberate starvation is Satan’s work. Lord, have mercy on our nation. ⚓️

Glad Cincinnati did the right thing in our mayoral election today. Even more important than being "not the half-brother of JD Vance", Aftab Pureval has two big things going for him:

1. He's been a good mayor.
2. He really likes my dogs (photo attached for proof)

I’m here at the Diocese of Texas clergy conference. They have an armadillo mascot. My standards of what I hope for at clergy conferences has been elevated. ⚓️

One of the only places inside a US airport to get excellent coffee — a great reason to choose PHL as a connection.

I appreciate this neighbor engaging in wholesome biblical catechesis about the general resurrection. ⚓️

You don’t usually see vestment stores in airports. But there are the stores for cassocks and amices? ⚓️

An excellent morning at the Cathedral of All Saints in Albany. Lots of great stuff happening there — in a massive and glorious building. ⚓️

First time I’ve ever seen a helipad at an Episcopal conference center. Makes me think I could reimagine my travel style

Oh, look, I have a new friend here in the Diocese of Albany.

Saw this beautiful creature on my evening walk. So sorry that it’s stuck in the middle of a city.

On Holy Cross Day, have an icon. This is a hand-painted icon of St Constantine and St Helena I bought last year in Sofia—where they are highly venerated. Thanks be to God for Helena’s conversion and her pilgrimage to Jerusalem, where she found the True Cross. ⚓️

I guess Target must be providing decor for tomorrow’s commemoration of the martyrdom of Cyprian. Thoughtful! ⚓️

Stopped by church to pick up some stuff, and I peeked into the chancel. The afternoon light — which I don’t usually get to enjoy — was lovely. 🕯️

Been looking at prayers from the early years of Forward Movement, mid-1930s. So much of what was urgent then -- rise of authoritarianism around the world, growing economic divide, anemic church -- feels relevant to today. Here's an example prayer from 1935. Would you like to see more of these? ⚓️

A few minutes ago, I was supposed to start boarding my flight from Montreal to Cincinnati. As you can see, there’s a problem. Namely, we have no plane! So I’m getting to enjoy some of Air Canada’s hospitality a bit longer than planned. #travellife
