If they didn’t already exist, libraries and Wikipedia would both be illegal.

You would have to rent books.

Also paper. If you tried to keep something you had written on the rented paper, someone would take it and say “we’ll keep this for you in OneDrive.”
If Wikipedia didn’t exist, I don’t think it would be created in today’s internet. Don’t take it for granted.
