Delighted to be invited to speak at the WSU Department of Biological Sciences seminar series this coming Monday! It feels really special and full circle to have been invited by a colleague who was actually my genomics professor during graduate school. Go Warriors! @waynestateresearch.bsky.social

Did a listening session in Spanish yesterday and let me tell you--conducting work in your non-native language as a speaker who has not been immersed in work settings is SO HARD from a vocabulary point of view! I have such respect for every bi/multi-lingual person and especially those using at work

We had a beautiful sunrise on Friday in San Diego, and it made way for a great morning of conversation. Thanks to all the professors and trainees who joined us for Meet the Professors at @isdp.org! Please look out for a feedback survey in your email over the coming weeks so we can improve!

Not the score I was hoping for, but grateful to have had my grant discussed and looking forward to improving for the next submission based on reviews. Thank you to all the NIH staff and the external reviewers for their time and expertise to make amazing science happen, even in chaotic times.
Got through the whole day yesterday without checking ERA commons because the science @isdp.org was just that good and captivating!

And now the thought is in my head so I’m checking again as we speak …
The government is report; how soon is too soon to be furiously updating ERA commons? Old habits die hard!

Thirteenth book of 2025 made me feel like I was drowning because it was so heavily profound, in a good way. This one will stay with me for a long time. And, read it next to the ocean while at ISDP—yes I swam!

Book 13 of ? in 2025: The Swimmers by Julie Otsuka

Also featuring my lab @isdp.org!

Happy Spooky Season there's nothing scarier than getting one of those 'an account has been created for you' emails from a scientific journal signaling that someone is about to ask you to review a manuscript . . .

What's your spooky academic fear?
