You know, I quit gambling decades ago, but odds are pretty good that they won't like my response!

prior to when reservations for my beach house had to be made, so I really didn't have any desire to go to the beach at the time, and honestly I'm not sure I'll ever have any desire to return, but this year would've been a working vacation anyway, so it had even less appeal.

a few hours of work, of one kind or another, that had to be attended to on each of all the other days - including on New Year's Day, and Memorial Day, and (ironically) on Independence Day.

Epilogue:

So grateful was Liberace for St. Francis hospital saving his life, he made himself available for hospital fundraisers - gratitude which they reciprocated in a ceremony dedicating the "Liberace Lobby", which remained as such until the hospital's demolition in 2002.

However, on that fateful day when JFK was assassinated, that evening's scheduled performance was, of course, canceled - and Liberace gave his entire staff the night off to mourn.

This is about when Lee almost killed Lee - not himself, of course, just another who went by that name: Liberace.

At the time, Liberace had been booked to perform two weeks of shows at a famous nightclub in the greater Pittsburgh region: the Holiday House in Monroeville, PA.
