Shout out to the Honda service employee (old white man) who told me it was “standard wear and tear” to have battery corrosion without (1) looking at it or (2) checking my service history like I indicated to identify it as significant, abnormal, and comped in the past. 😒

It really comes full circle when you train someone in how to train someone.

I’ve had a politically dense and draining 24 hours, and out of no where so many of the matrons in my life reached out, not knowing. It’s exactly what I needed.

Update: it’s taken this long but I finally won this fight. It only took a certified letter to the president of the company. 🙃
Me: “where in the contract does it indicate the fees charged for early termination?”

Vendor: “that’s just the contract, it’s not going to be spelled out word for word.”

Me: “So… it does have to be spelled out word for word…in the contract… we’ve had for 6 years…”

Lots of parenting lessons coming out of open swim for toddlers this morning (Owen finished his lesson right before):

1) maybe don’t force your kid into a situation they aren’t comfortable in and you’ll both have a better time.

It’s astounding that some people operate with no solution finding when my boss is their boss’s boss’s boss’s boss’s boss.

Today was 80° so I did my favorite thing and sent my whole team “home” an hour early. Soak up sun and heat, be with your families, go outside, this can all wait another day.

I went to @jennyjennijenne.bsky.social’s celebration of life today. So many people loved her, it was beautiful and heartbreaking.

It’s pretty interesting that both Tim Walz and Gavin Newsom are clearly positioning themselves to run for President and one thought he should publicize that he’s having diplomatic conversations with Canadian provinces close to Minnesota and the other thought he should publicize that he sucks

Took a screenshot to send to Jenny before realizing I can’t send it to Jenny.

I just realized I have hand-me- down pants, Rothy’s, and a bra from Jenny. I can imagine her having a good laugh over me wearing the bra in memoriam.

Weirdly proud that I got the purple category first in connections.

The blue category is UNHINGED.

TikTok is out here making me rawdog the Sunday Scaries tomorrow, while simultaneously reminding me the end is nigh.

All a girl wants is to doomscroll.

I cut 4 inches off my hair. My husband didn’t notice for 5 days, when I brought it up.

The 20-something Y employee at aftercare who I haven’t seen since December 18th? First thing she says when she sees me.

Today’s surprise rage: an antivaxer reposting a suicide awareness meme-thing with a large data citation for the WHO.

Oh so their data is valid for you now, huh? Absolutely unreal.

Someone please explain to me the (1) awareness of and (2) obsession with the Titanic in K-2nd grade boys. Including my own.

Our next door neighbor (the better ones) just dropped off seasoned, warm popcorn and cashews as a holiday gift. Delightful!

With all this talk of health insurance, I’m reminded of when blue cross denied Dan’s spinal fusion because he hadn’t tried injections.

For his bilateral pedicle fracture.

Cute of Dan’s family to believe that he is the one giving them ideas for Owen’s gifts, or has anything to do with the gifts for Owen’s cousins.

I’m coaching my newest analyst (experience-wise) on pivot tables and executive reports and it’s so incredibly rewarding.

Love to hear about other employers messaging their staff, because mine (a deep-blue county government and social services department specifically), hasn’t bothered.

I did send a message to my staff specifically at 8:30 this morning.

I knowingly opened a whole can of (campaign related) worms on Facebook two days ago and then my week exploded and I’m just… tired.
The double-talk on some folks is unreal. I’m being accused of trashing candidates (did not do!) while being trashed for *checks notes* sharing information.

In case you’re wondering how my campaign is going, after calling out the culture of a neighboring fire department, their assistant chief spoke at the next board meeting about how they’re proud to call themselves the “[location] Mafia.”
